Many of the following BOOKS are outside the
theological arena, but they are thought-provoking and entertaining.
GNOSTICISM/CULTS
Ancient Gnosticism = psychology + mysticism
"Gnosticism
has reared its ugly head in modern times under the disguise of analytical psychology and New Age mysticism. Reversionistic
believers from every Christian denomination have taken the wrong track by embracing this Gnostic revival.
Whether
separate or mixed together in some form of synergistic lifestyle, psychology and mysticism are satanic counterfeits of the
life in the Spirit. Cosmic evangelists, who have no clue about the Christian Way of Life, offer this admixture to unsuspecting
believers.
Their teachings are always presented as something necessary for life that either
(a) "God unfortunately omitted from His Word" or (b) "God hid these secret teachings in the very fabric of
His Word." In either case, they (the cosmic evangelists) have these added ingredients for life in their possession (specialized
"gnosis") and you (the unsuspecting believer) must come to them to obtain these secrets of life.
Many
well-defined Gnostic organizations that pretend to be Christian, or that are blatantly anti-Christian, are classified as cults
by the conservative Christian community. Debating (apologetics) with them can be frustrating, since they do not believe in
sola scriptura - the Bible is the only true Word of God.
Dealing with cultists is not only frustrating,
but sometimes painful. If you aren't well-grounded in Scripture, you can get whooped by experts at Scripture twisting.
These books may help you understand where certain cultists are coming from and how their beliefs deviate from Christianity."

POLITICS
A panacea is an oversimplified, supposed cure-all prescription guaranteed
to remedy a complex problem. Panaceas capture the ignorant, those who resent truth and arrogantly cling to false premises.
Satan entices men with these solutions apart from the truth of the Word of God. These human and often satanic viewpoints supplant
divine establishment, the Gospel, and Bible doctrine. (R.B. Thieme, Jr.)
"Liberalism, socialism, and the welfare state
are cosmic panaceas. The platform of beliefs underlying these panaceas is degenerate and often evil personified. Avoid this
web of philosophical and political entanglement at all costs.
While there may be minor exceptions here and there,
the books below espouse a political viewpoint that is in line with Scripture. This means they are correct according to both
establishment principles and divine standards."

TERRORISM
"Terrorism is the deliberate and systematic assault on civilians
to inspire fear for political ends.
The only way to defeat terrorism is to hunt down
the perpetrators of terrorist acts, dismantle the dictatorships that support them, and impose sanctions on countries who supply
them with training, funding, hardware and a safe haven."

ENVIRONMENT
Environmental
activists = Ignorant & arrogant crusaders
Jesus Christ, the Creator of heaven and earth,
controls history. Mankind is unable to destroy planet earth without His permission.
Many
prominent environmental activists distort and outright lie about environmental issues. Most of them are naturalists or pantheists
and seek to protect their world view at all costs. As Christians, it is important to know the enemy ... his philosophy, his
religion, and his method of operation. These books seek to burst the bubble of the "Chicken Little" environmentalist
wacko ... and his next-of-kin, the evolutionist witchdoctor."
Missing from Al Gore's "An Inconvenient
Truth" is "God's participation in these climactic events. Nature has taken God's place, but otherwise the
script is unchanged. Man's sin is responsible for the coming catastrophe, and unless we repent of our sins and give up
our use of fossil fuels, then catastrophe will surely bring the world to an end. Environmentalism has largely superseded Christianity
as the religion of the upper classes in Europe and to a lesser extent in the U.S. It is a form of religious belief which fosters
a sense of moral superiority in the believer, but which places no importance on telling the truth."
"The
global warming scam has been, arguably, the most extraordinary example of scientific fraud in the post-War period. So many
people, and institutions, have been caught up in the web of deceit, master-minded by environmental activists working through
NGOs and their manipulation of the IPCC processes, that the integrity of Western science is seriously at risk." (R. Evans)
Political
satirist H.L. Mencken warned, “The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed, and hence clamorous
to be led to safety, by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.” The environmentalist
agenda is more sinister. While the Soviet Union has collapsed, communism is not dead. It has been repackaged under a new name:
environmentalism. Communism is about extensive government regulation and control by elites and so is environmentalism. (W.
Williams)

ECONOMICS
"The Bible teaches the modern day equivalent
of the free enterprise system and capitalism. It does not teach socialism, communism, or the welfare state. Those who mistakenly
assume so are guilty of (a) taking verses from the Gospels that refer to the Millennium and applying them to the Church Age,
and (b) taking verses from the early church related to grace-gifts (charity) and attempting to build an economic system from
them."
I am a student of the Austrian school of Economics and highly recommend the daily
articles and blogs on the Ludwig von Mises Institute website (www.mises.org). I have an MBA degree with an emphasis in Finance
& Economics, as well as a BBA degree in Accounting. I was thoroughly trained in Keynesian economics, but I totally reject
that system as incompatible with liberty, freedom and most importantly – the Word of God.
